Sup sup party peeps. So, if you've heard, people are saying that One Direction is copying the Backstreet Boys. Like...! First of all, the Backstreet Boys think they're "hot stuff" because they were popular like, what, 75 years ago? Listen to their song Everybody on YouTube and you'll see what I mean. And then there's One Direction who doesn't mind media attention, but it's not like they HUNGER for it like the Backstreet Boys do. You can tell from their X Factor video diaries. ReplyDeleteYou do realise though, that the Backstreet Boys were the One Direction of the 90s and early 2000s, right? Popularity-wise, mind you, they can't be compared talent-wise as it would be an insult to compare the likes of One Direction with the classics.
Now, I've tried to tolerate and respect One Direction, but it's simply not possible with ignorant fangirls/fanboys like you. I wouldn't have managed to, anyway, seeing as they're have been boy bands like the Beatles, The Jackson 5, Boyz II Men, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync before them? The list goes on but I'd rather not spend my time pointing out the obvious.

May I just add that Simon Cowell managed an English boy band "Five" in the late 90s and early 2000s? They lasted a total of five years. I have a feeling that another boy band might be heading in that direction.
Fun fact: Four were British, one was Irish.

Yeah how old are you guys? And you must not get out much because One Direction music is better. They actually sound good and don't try to. And the Backstreet Boys are gross because i mean look at the picture. THEIR CLOTHES ARE TOO TIGHT. So i would appreciate it if you got off our website and stopped being party poopers. This website was just for fun and you took it too seriously. Well I am not a fan of the (bsb) but one direction I think want to carry on their legendary songs if you look and hear them they are pretty similar but just saying if you dont like one direction then why are you looking them up? DeleteWow...just so you guys know I don't have anything against One Direction but personally I prefer BackstreetBoys over them, so what if their clothes were too tight? That was the style only a few years ago, I tried to like 1D but...I'm just not feeling it especially when everywhere I go, it's all "1D!!" And it gets pretty annoying, no offense, when that's all you hear these days. I'm not saying they're bad, I'm just saying it's kinda overrated these days

ReplyDeletei am 17 years old.. you would probably think that i prefer one direction, but i dont... i have nothing against them, i like their music and all.. but i absolutely love the bsb. I grew up listening to their music cause of my older sister, and i actually have been to their concert, twice. And that was in 2009 & 2012 (along with the nkotb)loved it.. they have been around for nearly 20 years now and still make music..(I bet One Direction wont be around for as long as 20yrs.) and im planning to go when their next album comes out... One direction gets all the screaming girls, but bsb do too, and their not just 50year olds, trust me, ive seen 15 year olds at their concerts... im not comparing, thats just my opinion, You shouldnt either, after all if you love one direction do much, you should know that they are inspired by the backstreet boys, and hope they go as far as Backstreet Boys did... nuff said. x

Hey, OK, I am a huge Directioner but come on, guys, don't hit on BSB!!! It is true that a lot of 1D titles are really similar to Backstreet Boys songs- it just is. Look it up, you'll see. And yeah, One Thing has practically the same melody as I Want It That Way and the bridges in C'mon, C'mon and Weird World are basically the same just different speeds, but on the other hand, so what? It is pretty much impossible to write a song these days without having at least one part in it that's already been used, and I'm pretty sure BSB takes it as a compliment, although I think the song titles might bug them a bit.
ReplyDeleteCommenting on their clothes- now really, that's pretty dumb. As you have pointed out, they were popular in the '90s and early 2000s. That was the syle these days. And don't say stuff about tight clothes, 1D wears SKINNY JEANS (not that I'm complaining...).
BSB was like the 1D of 1th '90s and '00s. And we should hope 1D turn out like them because the've stuck around! Saying BSB was stupid and whatever is just what some people say about One Direction now and what some people said about BSB then. So if you hate it when people diss 1D then don't diss BSB.
BSB have actually, I think, been pretty supportive of 1D; they said 1D were talented and good and offered up some good advice.
Also if you're over about 13 your parents are probably BSB's ages or older, so don't say that to your parents (just saying you don't want to offend your mom or anything:\).
Besides, just because you're a Directioner doesn't mean you have to hate BSB. If you do it almost says bad things about 1D...Like I said BSB was the 1D of the '90s, 1D will eventually get to the stage where BSB are now and then all of us Directioners will be defending them against some new boyband's fans.
Also keep in mind that BSB paved the way for 1D as a boyband.
I do like both bands and I do have a favorite but I keep that to myself because either way someone will get upset, but I think you can't compare them because on one hand BSB has achieved more but 1D hasn't really gotten the chance yet! They'll get there. And they both come from different backgrounds. The ages in BSB are much more spread out (Nick Carter was only 12) and they formed themselves while 1D were formed on X Factor and kicked butt together.
So yeah, just because you like one, don't put the other down!!! They're like each other from different time periods! You can't compare them, you have to wait until 1D has time to grow up more as a band and do more!!!!

1 thing that makes one direction badshots to other people are some disrespectful directioner/fans. i was once a directioner but got pissed off with mostly of their fans. if you want to know which one is better go find a bsb video on youtube when they are same age as 1d then you'll find out which one has pure talent. I once got obsessed with 1d but i never said bad things to bsb. until i watched their acapella song compilation from 1993 to present. i was amazed and gained more respect to them. anyway their songs are wholesome compared to 1d. i wanted to see if 1d can surpass or even level bsb fame or can even have star on the walk of fame. i hope you wont get embarassed if time comes that 1d will not succeed.good luck!
